Help set a world record in the Great Nature Project

Do you love wildlife like my family does? Here is a chance to help set a world record that’s wildlife related.

The week of Sept. 21-29, The Great Nature Project is cataloging nature photos to create the world’s largest online animal photo collection. All you have to do is take a picture and use one of your favorite sites or apps with the hashtags #GreatNature and #animal. You can use flickr, Instagram, Twitter, iNaturalist, KidsMyShot, Project Noah, iSpot or Your Shot with these hashtags to include your animal photos in the Great Nature Project collection.

I tried out iNaturalist, which is an app that’s new to me, to share some nature pictures. I also went back to some of my old animal photos already on Instagram and tagged them in the comments section. My old pictures are now part of history, and you can see them (and everyone else’s) on The Great Nature Project site.

Behind the Great Nature Project is the National Geographic Society, which marks its 125th anniversary this year.

Let’s hope we get that Guinness World Records title!
