Day Out with Thomas comes to Miami on March 3-4, 10-11
For any kid who likes to send trains chuffing around the track, nirvana is Day Out with Thomas — a special event where Thomas the tank engine himself appears at different locations around the nation. Luckily for my family of super train fanatics, Thomas is coming to Miami on March 3-4 and March 10-11 at the Gold Coast Railroad Museum’s Day Out with Thomas event. (The Florida Railroad Museum in Parrish near Tampa has a Day Out with Thomas event March 17-18 and March 24-25.)
My family tries to never miss a Day Out with Thomas event at the Gold Coast Railroad Museum. Families can take a ride in a coach pulled by Thomas, meet Sir Topham Hatt (who runs the railway on the island of Sodor), play with Thomas and Friends trains, make crafts, jump in the bounce house and enjoy all the fun.
The highlight, of course, is climbing aboard the train pulled by Thomas. Thomas backs up and goes in a loop, then returns to the station to pick up new passengers for a ride.
Buy your tickets ($18) now to make sure you get the day and time of the train departure that you want!
The coach we rode in last time we went to Day Out with Thomas was decorated and played Thomas and Friends songs. My son felt right at home!
While waiting for your departure time or after your Thomas ride, kids can play with Thomas and Friends trains on several train tables.
Then, of course, walk through the large shopping area where you can buy everything Thomas and Friends: trains, tracks, play sets, backpacks, T-shirts, stickers, train whistles, books, you name it! My boys are still playing with the commemorative Thomas we purchased last time.
Because we are such big Thomas and Friends fans, we are excited to be family reporters for the event. If you don’t already, please follow me on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Hope to see your pics of the event too!

In exchange for being family reporters for Day Out with Thomas, event organizers gave my family free tickets to the event (which we were going to attend anyway). Opinions and silliness are my own.
