SeaWorld caters to families with Just for Kids festival

Choo Choo Soul will be at SeaWorld on Feb. 4

My five-year-old has two obsessions: trains and penguins. So he is super excited about seeing the Choo Choo Soul people LIVE at SeaWorld next month! He knows the songs by heart and since downloading the album in iTunes, he has watched the Bullet Train video endlessly. So our family is heading to SeaWorld for the Just for Kids festival featuring children’s favorites like Lazy Town, Max and Ruby, and the Doodlebops, which starts this Saturday, Jan. 14. (I’m a sure a visit with the penguins will be on our agenda too.)

It’s great that SeaWorld is offering these concerts and shows for free with paid admission to the park. Show times are at 11 am and 2 pm at SeaWorld’s Nautilus Theater. Guests will need to pick up concert tickets across from Nautilus Theater in order to attend the shows. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis starting at 9 am each event day.

Another bonus is that each Saturday of the Just for Kids festival is stroller rentals are half price. Also, kids can get free all-day dining, sky tower ride, Penguins Up-Close encounter or Behind-the-Scenes tours with a paid adult fee for any of those fun perks!

All of this on top of the news all my friends were talking about last week: the new Preschool Pass that lets kids under 5 years old in with FREE admission to SeaWorld and Busch Gardens for the rest of this year! Kids love going to SeaWorld to see and learn about the wildlife, play in Shamu’s Party Zone (my kids love the giant slides and the sand pit), Elmo and Abby’s Treasure Hunt show at SeaPort Theater and Breakfast with Elmo and Friends ($29.99 for adults and $24.99 for children ages 3-9). Here’s a tip: Enjoy this breakfast with your favorite characters and automatically get reserved seats for the Just for Kids concert that day!

If you live near the Orlando area, you’ll want to get the Fun Card at SeaWorld — which means you pay for entrance for a day and keep the Fun Card to come back again and again for free the rest of the year! You can buy Fun Cards at SeaWorld, by phone at 888-800-5447, or like my family, you can buy them online.

I think it’s great that not only is SeaWorld involved in taking care of injured or sick wildlife that later get released back to the wild, but they offer fun events for families. (And a chance to add to your collection of plush penguins!)
