Greet teachers with a back-to-school gift

A thoughtful gift for a teacher to kick off the school year

We’re going to meet my preschooler’s teacher on Saturday during an open house. My oldest son is going into Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) at the school he went to last year. Even though his surroundings will be familiar to him, he doesn’t know his teacher yet. So I’ve prepared a little gift for him to hand to her when we meet.

I got this idea here at Skip the Chips, which I found through One Pretty Thing. I admit her teacher gift box is way better than mine! I really just improvised with the items I thought would be practical (paper clips) or useful (uh… emergency chocolate) and which would fit in the box I got.

The reusable storage container is full of items that teachers can use

Now all I have to do is find a pretty gift bag to put the box in.

Do you do anything for your child’s teacher or school at the start of the year?

Psst, by the way, win some free school supplies and help out kids in need by liking Elmer’s Facebook page and commenting on my giveaway here.

That is such a cute idea! Last year I got Joey’s teacher a small Starbucks giftcard after the first week of school. I remember someone doing that for me when I was a teacher and I thought it was the nicest gesture ever! :) OH, I just “liked” the Elmers page. :)

    • Thanks, Lisa! I think Starbucks is a great gift too. I think I gave my son’s teachers Starbucks gift cards for the holidays last year. That reminds me of another cute gift idea I saw here:
